Super, I thought I knew how to do this, lemon yellow, paynes grey let them run together put in a bit of cobalt blue and then mop out clouds with wads of kleenex, maybe even use some masking around the castle. WELL, your way is far superior and a real joy to watch. Thank you.

Thank god some-one has atlast created a site where artists of all levels can learn.I'v just watched your vidio on painting a stomy atmospheric sky and my imagination has gone berserk.I have done a similar painting of a castle in the past, but not with such a dramatic sky.But not for much longer.I'm going to give this one a go ,it's right up my street.

Another wonderfully helpful video. Thanks Bob for not making it seem like hard work and for handling the 'rules' so lightly!

To Barbara who gets the black screen - try running the cursor (I get a little hand symbol)over the screen and watch for a small white menu bar at the bottom then click your mouse when the cursor is in the centre of the screen. If this doesn't work then get more expert help. I'm a beginner myself but this is how I get to view the videos. Good luck and happy painting.

Painting a Stormy Sky

Hi Bob,

Stumbled on her site a few days ago. I am one of those people who looks on with awe at artists, watercolour being my favourite medium. You make everything look so doable and easy. Makes me want to get my brush out and paint!

My only suggestion is that when you are filming try not to move your hands so quickly on the canvas, it really hurts the eye and creates a shadow. All in all, great work.
