i do a lot of differnt arts so so to good becouse i study the sills i need to do them but painting was one i just did not have the now how for till i saw what you did in the vidos i was not at easy with my work and real found i over worked them i noticed you said you had to stop or it could happen to you thats my mistae not standing back and leting the picture come to life on its own thanks bob

Your explanations and examples are very straight-forward. I'm fairly new to watercolour painting and find it very hit & miss at the moment. Your metaphor of being plunked into a gourmet kitchen and expected to create a fabulous meal without the knowledge, skills (and recipes) is a wonderful analogy that really hit home. I've been merely playing with recipe bits, so am looking forward to buying the Watercolour Secrets to learn and practice the whole cookbook!!!

This video totally hit the mark. It was easy to follow and the solution was presented very clearly. I really liked how you showed us the mistakes made to form cauliflowers and how to avoid them. Perhaps it would be helpful if you demonstrated how to remove a cauliflower and continue on with the painting.

Hi Bob,
Last Fall I did three watercolors that I felt came out pretty good compared to my prior atempts .I was inspired by you and a video that you had made. Today about a year later I'm trying to get back into painting but this time it's a couple of paintings of Spock and Captain Kirk from Star Trek, fighting through the process of trying to create a decent sktech of their face is a process of course but I know that everything takes time. You have a big fan in Boston, Mass. USA..

I was very pleased to hear you say that everyone can paint and they don't need to have a natural talent. I have been trying for the last two years and I think my art teacher must get very exasperated sometimes. But I hope that with these videos I will be a much more confident artist. I am currently taking watercolour classes in my home town, where the tutor gives inconsistent advice and lets you make mistakes and then tells you what you have done wrong.
